Processing and Bail for City of Las Vegas Inmates
Processing of prisoners into the City of Las Vegas Jail is an extensive operation. Upon arrival into the jail, the inmate is fingerprinted, personal effects are documented, and given a brief medical exam. Inmate Visitation Rules and Hours
Visitors to the facility must have permission before visiting the prisoner. The prisoner is required to submit the full name, and date of birth of anyone they wish to receive. The visitor must present photo identification. Denial of visitation may occur if: the visitor is a felon, is a security or health hazard, has been a prisoner of the facility within the past half year, has open warrants, is currently on release, bond, or parole, and under the influence of intoxicants. Legal Visits for Inmates
For a legal visit on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, call 702-229-1786. Legal visitation hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visitation rules still apply.
Inmate Mail Rules
If sending mail to prisoners, include full name, id number, and send it to the aforementioned address. Written mail is all that is allowed. No photos or boxes.
Placing Money in an Inmates Account
To put money on a prisoner’s account, there are three options: on-line, by phone at 866-345-1884, or in person by using the kiosk at the facility. Kiosks accept cash, the other options accept debit and credit cards only. In-person deposits are available during business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week, not including holidays.
Property Release
Property release occurs 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Prisoners of the jail must fill out a form to release their property to someone, or a visitor can request the property by filling out the same release form.
City of Las Vegas Inmate Release Information
The City of Las Vegas Jail does not release times for prisoner release, and the times changes on a daily basis. Men and women are released on the corner of 1st Avenue and Lewis Street, with women only during the daytime. At night, women are turned loose at the City of Las Vegas City Hall building.
