Did you know that there are other jails in the Las Vegas area in addition to the main Clark County Detention Center located downtown?
If you are surprised by this or perhaps confused by all the different locations, you have come to the right place.
We have put together some important information about each jail and what to expect if you or a loved one run into a legal issue.
Given how many different jails there are (not to mention the fact that some centers go by more than one name), we thought this might be beneficial.
The Four Jails In The Las Vegas Area
- Las Vegas Detention Center (Las Vegas City Jail)
- Henderson Detention Center (also doubles as the Las Vegas Immigration Jail)
- Clark County Detention Center (CCDC, but it is also sometimes called the Las Vegas Detention Center)
- North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center (North Las Vegas CCC or North Las Vegas Detention Center or North Las Vegas Jail)
As you can see from the above list, we are only covering four jail facilities in the Las Vegas area, although again, each of them has more than one name.
Very Brief Overview of Each Jail
- Las Vegas Detention Center (Las Vegas City Jail): Otherwise known as the Las Vegas Jail, the Las Vegas Detention Center holds people who commit certain misdemeanors within city limits, such as possessing marijuana and driving while intoxicated, among other crimes. If you know someone who has committed a misdemeanor, there is a good chance they are being held here.
However, offenders may also be taken to the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC). Please note that the CCDC is NOT the same facility as the Las Vegas Detention Center (Las Vegas City Jail).
The phrase “Las Vegas City Jail” is generally reserved for the Las Vegas Detention Center even though the CCDC is the main jail in Las Vegas.
To make matters even more confusing, sometimes, the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) is referred to as the Las Vegas Detention Center. This is technically inaccurate. Again, they are two separate facilities.
- Henderson Detention Center (Las Vegas Immigration Jail): If someone has committed a crime in Henderson, this is probably where they will be booked. Occupants include people who have not had their trials yet, as well as those serving sentences that are less than a year long. Non-citizens who have entered the country illegally are also held here.
- Clark County Detention Center (CCDC): As the main detention center in the Las Vegas area, this facility is for people who have been arrested and are awaiting trial, as well as those who are already serving time for misdemeanor crimes in Las Vegas. This facility books people who have committed gross misdemeanors and felonies. If a non-citizen who is here illegally is arrested, they will be sent to Henderson Detention Center (Las Vegas Immigration Jail) instead.
- North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center (North Las Vegas Jail): If someone you know has committed a misdemeanor crime in North Las Vegas, they may be booked and held here. This center also handles overflow from other facilities because it is so large, with nearly 900 beds.
Important note: Due to the pandemic, the North Las Vegas CCC has been closed to the public. Outside visitors are only allowed to come and make cash bail payments to get inmates released.
Addresses and Booking
- Las Vegas Detention Center (Las Vegas City Jail): The address to this detention center on Google is 3300 Stewart Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101. However, inmates are booked at 3200 Stewart Ave.
These are essentially the same address, but we do want to point this out to help you avoid any confusion, especially if you have never worked with this detention center before.
The booking process itself is fairly straightforward. After someone has been arrested and taken in, they are identified, and whatever they have on them (personal property) is recorded. There is a health screen, fingerprints are taken, and paperwork is filled out.
Side Note About The Arraignment Process
Once the booking process is complete, the arrestee will be held until their first court appearance, during which a bail amount will likely be set. The defendant will then have a chance to pay the bail amount themselves or post bond with the help of a bail company to get released. In some cases, the arrestee may be released on OR.

Addresses and Booking Continued
- Henderson Detention Center (Las Vegas Immigration Jail): Their address is 18 E Basic Rd, Henderson, NV 89015.
Standard booking practices are followed.
- Clark County Detention Center (CCDC): Their address is 330 S Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Standard booking practices are followed. However, if a non-U.S. citizen is here illegally, they will most likely be kept in custody an additional 48 hours while Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers look into their case. They may then be transferred to Henderson Detention Center (Las Vegas Immigration Jail).
- North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center (North Las Vegas Jail): Arrestees are taken to 2332 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Suite 200.
Standard booking practices are followed.
Paying Bail Or Depositing Money Into An Inmate’s Account
- Las Vegas Detention Center (Las Vegas City Jail): Access to lobby kiosks to make payments and deposit funds are not available at present.
If you need assistance with making payments or depositing funds into an inmate’s account, we recommend contacting the detention center directly, as they can guide you through the proper steps.
If, on the other hand, you need to post bail, call us anytime at (702) 333-2663. We simplify the bail bonding process for you and also make it much cheaper than paying bail outright. We only charge you 15% of the face value of the bond plus jail fees, no more, no less, which means (for example) that you only pay a $150 premium on a $1000 bail.
If you would rather pay the full bail amount yourself, you can do so at 3200 Stewart Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada, 89101. Several forms of payment are accepted, including credit cards. Just remember that American Express is not accepted.
Additional Information About Kiosks At Las Vegas Detention Center
Normally, when kiosks are available at the center’s visitation area, you can deposit funds from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The kiosks are not available on holidays.
Regarding weekends:
The kiosks are available Saturdays in the evening from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm and Sundays in the morning from 7:30 am to 9:30 am and again in the evening from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Unfortunately, you cannot deposit funds through money orders.
- Henderson Detention Center (Las Vegas Immigration Jail): You can add funds to an inmate’s account in three different ways. One, you can do it over the phone, two, you can add them online, or three, you can visit the Smart Deposit kiosk in the lobby during lobby hours.
To add funds by phone, you will need to provide the facility name, the inmate’s full name, the inmate’s identification number, your billing address, and the complete information on your credit or debit card.
If you want to use the Smart Deposit Kiosk at the facility, bear in mind that it only accepts cash and certain types of credit and debit cards (MasterCard and Visa).
Visiting Henderson Detention Center’s Smart Deposit Kiosk
Please note that you should contact the center before coming to visit the Smart Deposit kiosk. The Smart Deposit kiosk may NOT always be available due to the pandemic and ongoing restrictions.
Visiting hours are 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, seven days a week. The lobby is closed for lunch every day from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
For more details about how to submit funds online, by phone, or through the Smart Deposit kiosk, please call the detention center.
Bail At Henderson
As for bail, you can pay cash bail or post bond after hours at the bail gate behind the courthouse at S. Texas Ave. or during business hours at 243 Water Street, Henderson, NV 89015, which is where Henderson Municipal Court and Henderson Justice Court are located.
Business hours for these courts are different from the Henderson Detention Center. The hours for the two courts are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mondays through Thursdays.
If you cannot afford your bail amount or would just prefer having professionals help you with the bail process, call us anytime at (702) 333-2663. We are available 24/7.
- Clark County Detention Center (CCDC): To deposit funds for inmates, you can do so by mail, phone, online, or in person. Please note that you will need to provide the inmate’s full name and inmate ID number when making a deposit.
Personal checks are not accepted.
If you want to deposit cash, you will have to use the kiosk located in the detention center lobby. Remember that the Clark County Detention Center is not responsible if you accidentally deposit the wrong amount, so make sure you are careful with the amount you enter!
If you want to use a money order, make it payable to “CCDC Inmate Trust Account.” There may be a hold of 10 business days.
To mail funds, you can do so by including the inmate’s full name and ID on the front of a plain white envelope, along with the name and full address of the detention center.
Note About Depositing Money Through Cards At CCDC
To deposit money via credit or debit card, you can use Touchpay.
For information on how to get started with Touchpay or to learn more about depositing funds in general, contact the detention center.
Releasing Funds At CCDC
If an inmate in permanent housing wants to release their funds, they can do so through a business or a legal entity. Releases undergo a 24-hour hold, after which the release will only be valid for 3 business days.
If a person is just in booking and has not been moved to permanent housing, they can release funds to an individual person, a business, or a legal entity.
Former inmates who want their leftover funds returned either have to go to the detention center and bring a valid ID or mail a notarized letter to the detention center and attention it to Inmate Accounts. The address to mail to is 330 S Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Bail At CCDC
Paying bail for someone while they are held at the detention center can be done at the PRE TRIAL SERVICES bail bond window or at the Regional Justice Center.
Where you pay depends on what court you are paying to—the Justice Court or the District court.
Justice Court bail is paid at the PRE TRIAL SERVICES bail bond window, while District Court bail is paid at The Regional Justice Center.
The PRE TRIAL SERVICES bail window is open 24/7, but the Regional Justice Center only accepts bail payments from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Avoid writing personal checks for both, as personal checks will not be accepted.
Keep in mind that there is a $50 fee for bail bonds for both courts, which you can pay for with cash, cashier’s check, credit card, and money order. If you need to use another form of payment, you can ask the detention center if they allow other options.
If you need to pay child support bail, you can do so online or by telephone with credit card, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, or MoneyGram.
- North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center (North Las Vegas Jail): Unlike the other detention centers, the only way to add funds to an inmate’s account at the North Las Vegas CCC is through money orders.
With the money orders, you have two options. You can visit the detention center lobby or mail the money order to the inmate directly to 2332 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Suite 200, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. Include the inmate’s full name on the envelope.
Please note: Due to the pandemic, this center has been closed to the public. Outside visitors are only allowed to come and make cash bail payments to get inmates released. For this reason, you must contact the center for information on whether they still accept money orders and how to submit one if they do.
Bail at North Las Vegas CCC
If you need to post bail, you can usually do so at two places, depending on the time.
The first place is the North Las Vegas Municipal Court, which is only available Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The second place is the North Las Vegas CCC, which is available after hours. Fortunately, they are both at the same address (2332 Las Vegas Blvd N.), so they are easy to find.
If you want to pay cash, you will have to wait until the North Las Vegas Municipal Court is open and pay there.
Note: In certain instances, you may need to post bail at a different location than the two mentioned above. If you have any questions, you can contact the North Las Vegas CCC or call us, and we can help walk you through the process.
